We built stairs and retaining wall down to a new entry to this house in Wayne. First we move the rough boulder retaining wall down 3 feet to get out of the drive way line.
Then we unloaded the rough steps and set them in a crushed rock base. These are rustic steps that we cut to make 7″ rise and 16″ runs. We lay up the front of these walls, form up the back, pour concrete on a crushed rock base, and backfill with crushed rock.
These stones are 5 feet wide and 3′ to 4′ deep.
